*** On all platforms @6am ***
The Lord is doing great and mighty things in the lives of his people throughout the world. Don't get distracted with the noise in the world but stay focused on God!
Hello and welcome to Let's Talk About It podcast. I am your host, Apostle Rosemary of RCN Ministries and OSGA Apostolic Network, along with my husband, Apostle Herving. On today, we are following up with the Unshaken series. On last month, we dealt with family first, but God always talked about it was concerning putting your family in order, but without putting God second. We talked about anchoring truth. about Jesus being the foundation. Family is a ministry, not a distraction. And we talked about the spiritual impacts, the household health. So our spiritual health impacts what's going on in our house as well, okay? So on today, on episode five of season five, we're dealing with discernment in a distracted world. The theme of this podcast for episode five is learning to hear God clearly when everything else is loud. So we're talking about just kind of to set the scene here in a noisy, fast-paced, always online world. How do we discern God's voice? And we're asking this question, why? Because a key to this is why. Not everything that's loud is from God. We need to know exactly what we're listening to, who we're listening to, who we're following, who's praying over us, who's praying for us, who's speaking into our lives. We need to know these things. We need to make sure that it's truly a man or a woman from God. Amen. So we're going to deal with also on today's podcast, what is discernment and why do we need it? So when we define discernment, we talk about the spiritual sensitivity, and wisdom to distinguish God's truth from deception. The scripture to anchor this is Proverbs chapter three and verse five. When it says, trust in and rely confidently on the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insights or understandings and all your ways, know and acknowledge and recognize him and he will make your path straight and smooth, removing obstacles that block your way. We're doing the amplified because we're breaking this down to make sure everybody's going to be able to receive what we're talking about in scripture. Usually I would do King James and then break it down with amplified. I'm just going to go right into amplified. And that way we're just going to flow right through this. Okay. Alrighty. So then we look at when we're talking about that. Remember, in all your ways, acknowledge him.
UNKNOWN:Okay.
SPEAKER_00:We have to understand there's a lot of spiritual confusion, a lot of competing voices, a lot of things that are going on globally that is not of God. It's not sanctioned by God. It's not ordained by God, but people are still doing it. We have a lot of motivational speakers, more so Thank you. Watch your gates, be mindful. Also begin to understand the principle of distractions or the key of distractions is to get you off on your discernment, to not be aware, to not be alert of your environment and the things that are going on. It literally blinds and immobilizes you. So when we talk about the modern day distractions, We talk about the constant strolling on social media, the comparison in cultures, all of the busyness and overcommitment. Distractions can mean, yes, being overcommitted. What is it that you're doing that so you can't make time for the Lord? You're always constantly busy. You're always constantly going. You're always constantly doing something, but you can't make time for the Lord. That is a distraction. And so we have to learn to adjust accordingly. So think about the times you almost made a wrong decision because of the pressure of the noise around you. We can allow ourselves to have so many voices that it becomes clutter and it becomes deafening. So we look at 1 Corinthians 14 and 33, and it tells us, for God, who is the source of their prophesying, is not a man of confusion and disorder, but of peace and order, as is the practice in all churches of the saints of God's people. So people of God, we need to understand something. This is the instructions that the Lord is setting for the church And the people of God. Amen. So how to sharpen your discernment. I'm going to turn this over to Apostle Herbie.
SPEAKER_01:Step two. Greater clarity. Silence the noise. Turn down worldly input. Social media. Voices. Voices. internal chatters soak in the world the bible is your filter and guide submit to spiritual learn learn to wait and listen before moving discernment discernment often shows up in silenceness not speed Killing this, not speed.
SPEAKER_00:Okay, so Black Apostle Herbie was just saying the three steps to greater clarity. He told you one, was silence the noise. Two, soak in the word. Three, submit to the spirit. That means submission, total submission. That means understanding Ezekiel, what was it? What were we talking about? Ezekiel 47? When we talked about, yeah, Ezekiel 47 was a good equipping session that we did because we have to get to a point where we are totally submerged in the things of God, where we just, we step out and we're to a point in Ezekiel 47 where the water had surpassed their head And they were submerged so in the water until it was where they could not any longer feel the body. I'm paraphrasing here, trying to give you a visual. So when you're ankle deep, then you're still able to move freely. You're still not committed, but you've gotten your feet wet, so to speak. When you're knee deep, that means you've trusted the Lord. You've stepped out a little bit further. And then the man with the line in the hand measures again a thousand cubits and takes you out into the water further. And it's the water that comes up to the loins. So then it's above your waist. So right then is where you get to the place where you're almost there. You submit it. You're walking in obedience, but then God says, I need you to come out further. I need you to go deeper in my things. I need you to sit in the silent place. I need you to silence the noise around you. I need you to soak in my word. I need you to submit totally and fully to my spirit. That's what God is saying in this hour. So to encourage each and one of you, you don't need to know everything. You just need to know when God is speaking. And the only way you're going to do that is to silence everything around you. The distractions must go. So then you have to challenge yourself. Choose one area just this week. that you're willing to reduce the noise so you can hear better. So you're able to hear what God is saying. So you know what? Say to yourself, you know what, Lord? I know I've been distracted in the last few weeks or months. I know I haven't really given you the time that you really, really require of me. And Lord, I haven't been faithful over everything. And I can't expect you to take care of my house if I'm not taking care of your house. So, you know, charity, which is ministry, it starts at home. We need to get our own houses in order. There was a song years ago that said, sweep around your own front door before you try to sweep around mine. So in other words, deal with home first. Deal with your house first. Deal, if you're husbands, husbands, get your house in order with your wives. Wives, you have a husband, fall in line with your husband. Come into unity and oneness with your husband. A divided house will not stand. I've said this several times and I'm going to say it again. Because we are one flesh, men and women of God, when we are married, If I bleed, Apostle Herbie bleeds. If Apostle Herbie bleeds, then I bleed. Why? Because anything that tears his flesh, tears my flesh because we are one. We may have to do a conference off of that for married couples. But we want you all to understand this. If I say I, I mean we, because we're one. But we need to understand this people of God. The Lord cannot fully submerge you into the deeper things until we line up those things in our lives. We cannot pull and tug against one another. And you know what? If you're doing everything you can, if you're going as hard as you can, if you're obeying God as much, just being faithful over a few things, the word of God says that he'll make you rule over the plenty. We need to learn to take the steps to align ourselves with the will of God. When we are ministers of the gospel, the Lord holds us to a higher accountability. We need to understand this. We cannot be wishy-washy. We cannot be one way in church and one way before people that see us and may know us. But at home, all hell is breaking loose at home. I can't say nothing to you because you about to bite my head off, men and women. Or at home, I'm cussing and lying and talking about people and backbiting. And then I wonder why my spouse, rather it be male or female, that will not even come to church. They don't want to hear nothing about it. I can't draw them. I can't draw my family members. I can't draw loved ones. I can't draw people that know me. Why? Because I'm living the same life they're living. They don't see that I'm living anything. Why? Because they see the evidence of the fruit. So hear me what I say. This discernment has got to be a key that you require and you must have in this world, this distracted world. Because what this episode's title is, discernment in a distracted world. We have to have it. There's no way around it, people of God. This is a must. The spirit of discernment is a must. Some people will say deserting of spirits. We got to have it. So we need to understand this. Now, episode six, I'm going to turn it back over to Apostle Herbie here in a minute. But episode six, is going to be titled Faithful with the Little. Here it is. We just did a... I scribed something. I've been scribing so much. I'm probably over 225 manuals and all of these for equipping because we launched our Apostolic Architect Kingdom Equipping. It's a broader, more in-depth, more apt... training and equipping globally for senior leaders, leaders and emerging leaders. It is out, it's RCN Ministries that everything comes out of our main ministry, but it's under our apostolic network as well, which is OSGA, which stands for One Sound Global Alliance. So we are all, we're doing a lot of things for the kingdom. We're being obedient to the will of God and we're walking out the mandate that God has given us. When people say, Apostle Rosemary, Apostle Herbie, how do you guys do so much? How do you do all of the things you do? And I tell people, and this is really across my social medias and our social medias, and I tell them one of the graphics that we have up says, we don't, God does. I think that's even in my bio. We don't do it. God does it. And when we sit back and allow God to do it, we'll give birth, multiple births, one after the other. But it's going to be productive. It's going to be impactful. It's going to be effective because God is using it for a tool to equip the nations. So Here, I'm just going to do this, Apostle. Okay. All right. So we need to understand when we're talking about discernment in a distracted world, just learning to quiet the noise and recognize God's direction. I also did a scribe on finding your way in transition, and that has been very powerful, impactful for wonderful men and women of God that have been blessed to receive it. I was led by the Lord who to sow that into. And so it's just been... It's been powerful, the responses and the testimonies that the men and the women of God, that the Lord has had us to sow that into that scribe that I had done for the kingdom. They were blessed and they had nothing but testimonies that this is where they were. And God gave clarity. And with that scribe, it deals with us either obedience or obligation. Which one is it? So it helps to lay out the foundation to find exactly what is going on, where you're at and what you need God to clarify for you. So it's very powerful. Yeah. Finding your way in a transition. So the key scriptures for today is Proverbs chapter I want to give you all this quote. Discernment grows in stillness, not in scrolling. That's powerful right there. I'm about to put that up on my social. Discernment grows in stillness, not in scrolling. My God, that's powerful right there, Apostle. And then you want to pick this back up, the three clarity steps.
SPEAKER_01:The three clarity steps. Silence the noise. Soak in the word and submit to the spirit. Reflect and respond. Where am I letting noise override God's voice? What is one distraction I can fast from this week to grow my discernment?
SPEAKER_00:My Lord, that's powerful, Apostle. We're going to do a few Q&As here. So first question is this. What's the difference between discernment and just making a good decision? The answer is this, people of God. Well, discernment is not just logic. It's about spiritual insight. Somebody need to catch that. Discernment is not logic, people of God. It's about spiritual insight. A good decision may make sense on paper, but a good decision aligns with his timing. his peace and purpose. So in other words, when you are following the discernment of God, it's going to align with the will of God. When you're making good decisions, it will be orchestrated by God, not just on paper, but then it's going to align with God's will, with his timing, with his peace and with his purpose. So you're going to have peace about that in the midst of everything else. All right, the next one, Apostle, I'll let you grab that one.
SPEAKER_01:How do I know if God is speaking or if it's just my own thoughts? God's voice, God's voice will never contradict his word. It's often gentle, consistent, and bring peace. Bring peace. Your voice rushes his voice away. reassures. Test what you hear by his word and by prayer.
SPEAKER_00:My God, that's powerful, Apostle. That's powerful right there. Now that brings total clarity to those who may really be questioning. If the Lord isn't me, am I really hearing your voice? Do I know for sure that you're speaking? But the word of God tells us, you know, we can go to scripture on that too, that my sheep know my voice and a stranger they will not follow my Lord. And so we need to understand that. When the Lord is really speaking to us, the Lord is gonna bring clarity. That's where the peace comes in. You can find that in John chapter 10, verses 27 to 28. And it deals with my sheep hear my voice and I know them and they follow me. My God, 28 says, and I give unto them eternal life and they shall, not might, not maybe, and they shall, my God, never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. That's powerful right there. Now let's look at, that's the King James translation. Let's look at the Amplified. Hold on, I got to switch it up here, y'all. I just turned, I just opened up my Bible and pull this up to go over this with y'all. All right. So the Amplified translation of John 10 verses, chapter 10, verse 27 to 28 is the verses. Amplified, it says, the sheep that are my own hear my voice and listen to me. Somebody better say amen. I know them and they follow me, my God. So there is clarity in the confusion. This is why God is instructing us to get rid of the distractions so that we know we are hearing from God clearly. That it's only his voice that we're hearing. It's only his voice that we're listening to. It's only his voice that we're following. I'm going to get some help right here. 28 says, and I give them eternal life and they will never ever by any means perish and no one will ever snatch them out of my hand. My God, that's powerful right there. That is powerful right there. So in other words, we're like Joe. God got us hedged in. He got us protected. Nobody can take us. I want to do one more translation and this is going to come from the Amplified Classic edition, John 10, 27 to 28. The sheep that are my own hear and are listening to my voice and I know them and they follow me. 28 says, and I give them eternal life and they shall never lose it or perish throughout the ages. To all eternity, they shall never by any means be destroyed. Somebody that's powerful right there. I can preach right there. And no one is able to snatch them out of my hand, my Lord. I better put this down because I'm about to preach and I'm trying to do a podcast. Father, help me, Jesus. Okay, we got two more questions here and answers we're going to talk to you guys about. When you feel, when you get to a place and you say, I feel overwhelmed, how do I even start to discern better? So this is the thing we have to do, people of God. You've got to learn to set healthy boundaries. How do we do that? Start by subtracting. Pick one source of distractions. If it's your social media or constant news stations, take a short break. Take a break. Let me be real and transparent with you all. I have not watched the news in 10 years. Somebody say amen. I watch Clippets on YouTube. with voices that have been vetted for global news. And I watch them that are not biased, but they bring you the raw, unfiltered truth. I'm not falling down the rabbit holes with all this crazy stuff and hatred and malice and malicious and lawlessness. We're not going down there. We're gonna stick to Bible. We're gonna keep our gates clean. We're gonna keep our gates pure. We're gonna stay uncontaminated. We're gonna stay unpolluted. My God, help me. And so you gotta learn to cut some things out And right now, I'm still struggling. Y'all, I'm telling you, I'm still struggling with social media because I need to be more active. I just started a TikTok a few weeks ago. I don't even think it's been a month. And I'm not active on there. I've got, oh gosh, I got a lot of social media platforms. But the sad thing about it, I think we got four or five, maybe six different pages on Facebook and all these other social medias. But I just started TikTok, Instagram, all of these different sites. And so, The thing about it, people of God, is this. I struggle with social media because I don't want the distraction. I want all of my attention on the things of God. And so this is why it's hard for me to get back on social media. But slowly and surely, I got to because the Lord says, if the remnant does not stand now in this hour, then they're going to fall. and get deceived by voices that I have not vetted, by voices that I have not consecrated, by voices that are not of me, that are not my sheep, but have strayed in from other pastors. Those wolves in sheep clothing. This is why the remnant has to rise up on social media, because this is also a tool to use to be able to reach the body of Christ. And that's something that we do. We use all seven mountains to get the word of God out and to minister to the people globally. So you'll be surprised how much more clearly you hear from God when the volume of the world is turned down. So you know what? Kendrick Lamar did the Super Bowl party. And our children were telling, we got four adult children, they were telling us, and I got nieces and nephews that were talking about K-Dot, Kendrick Lamar. And I'm like, who is this K-Dot and all of this? My time, it was Tupac and other people. But Tupac was the main one that really came with a lot of in-depth, different things that he had scribed to or written to be able to wrap on. And it was dealing with society and what was going on in the world. and things like that. So in this generation for the people, they have Kendrick Lamar, KDOT, very well known globally. He was on and he did the Super Bowl. That was Super Bowl, right baby? And he did the halftime show and he did, he was talking about it and he was saying, they're not like us. And I thought about the remnant, but then what really got to me when he said on there, turn the TVs off, turn the TVs off. This is what we're talking about. It's time to turn off the distractions, people of God. I said all that distraction say this. It's time to turn off the televisions. It's time to get off of the social medias so much. It's time to filter what you allow in your spirit because whatever we receive in our ear gates, in our eye gates, it becomes tangible within us. So we need to turn off these distractions. And Apostle Herbie is going to finish with this last question.
SPEAKER_01:Can discernment really be developed? Or is it a gift? Both. Some have a spiritual gift of discernment, but all believers can grow in its true practice, praise, and spending time with God. Discernment grows, and the more you walk closely with the shepherd. My God.
SPEAKER_00:Listen, people of God. I remember years ago, I would tell people I was preaching probably 12, 12, 13, about 14 years ago. And I remember telling the people the Lord was dealing with me and he was sifting some things out of me in order to make room for enlargement spiritually. And I remember and what it was, a lot of times we've grown up in the church like I did. And I'm like fifth that I know of. And it's more than this, but at least fifth generational spiritual leader. And so I was the one that ran from the church. I didn't want anything to do with it because I saw what it did to so many family members and my parents that came before me. My mom was very active. My dad, my God, he was a biblical scholar. But he ran from his call. But the mantle did not fall to the ground. Thank you, Jesus. But when it comes down to it, we have to have discernment. There's no way around it, people of God. Because there are so many people that are preaching that are teaching and they have blood on their hands. There are so many people that are preaching, that are teaching, that are leading, and they have unforgiveness in their heart. They have hatred. They have racism. They're about division. They are deceptive. They are walking in a spirit of vagabond, an orphan spirit. They operate in lawlessness. They are renegades. We can go on and on. And so it's so important, people of God, that you allow God to do a work in you so he can do a work through you. This is why we must have discernment. Discernment is key because discernment is needed in a distracted world. Now on this series, Unshaken, this is all of series five. We're coming at you with some heavy stuff that's really going to help you get through with this season globally. We thank God for all of the downloads. We thank all of those who support the ministry that may sow seeds on our website for the podcast or on our platform on RCN Ministries, through our giving platforms, through our text to give, whatever way you do. This has given you strength to be able to pick up, dust yourself off, turn off the distractions and to keep going. Keep persevering. Keep pushing forward. Keep obeying God. Well, topics for the series, Unshaken. So again, next month, Faithful with the Little. How small obedience leads to big breakthroughs. That is a must. We thank you all for joining us. God bless you.
