What happens when personal feelings, opinions, and cultural narratives begin replacing absolute truth?

In Episode 5 of Let’s Talk About It Podcast, Apostle Rosemary and Apostle Herbie continue the Voices of the Church in a Divided World series with a timely conversation on “Christianity in a Post-Truth Era: Standing on Absolute Truth in a Relative World.”

We examine biblical truth versus “my truth,” sound doctrine, spiritual discernment, and why believers must remain anchored in Jesus Christ and the Word of God when culture continually shifts its definition of truth.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. Amen. Thank you so much, Apostle Hurry, for leading us in opening prayer on today. So on today, as we have said, we are coming back to you with episode five of season six, which is Voices of the Church in a divided world. As you all know, we are faith, family, and focus here on this podcast. And we are dealing with some issues that are going on in the church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, things that God the Lord has told us to come to speak about, to expose, to uproot, and to pioneer forth in this season. Even in the times of obscurity, we still must stand firm. Amen. So on last month, we dealt with kingdom first and the fact that we have to learn how to what it we are to do as we are navigating nationalism and faith. There is an alternative gospel, there is a counterfeit gospel that is nationalism or Christian nationalism, which is not of God. It is not rooted in the word of God, it is not rooted in love. And what has happened is many have been deceived, many are twisting the word of God, manipulating the word of God to be able to condone or to promote division and hate and divisiveness. And these things are not of God. So we're gonna call it out, we're gonna expose it because a lot of people have been led astray. Amen. So we're just gonna talk to you all this morning, and we pray that this is going to even give deeper clarity to you all on what God is saying in this season moving forward, how we are to navigate in an uncertain world of unstability in the world. And the Lord is telling us it's time for us to look back to Him, to return to our first love. Amen. So again, we're welcoming you all back this morning. And as we continue our season six series of voices of the church in a divided world, we've already established some critical foundations that we want to go over here with you, okay? And one thing is this we're going to go over what we've already came on here and spoke about that the Holy Spirit has released unto us through the dispensation of the Holy Spirit. So in episode one, we learn that Christ must be above culture, Christ first, always. There is no diluting this, there is no manipulating this, there is no idolatry and putting man and money and government and politics and all of these other things that are temporal. We are to lay up our treasures in heaven, which are eternal. Amen. In episode two, we learn how to respond with grace and with truth. We don't have to bicker, we don't have to debate, we don't have to get upset, we don't have to step outside of our godly character. Because if we are allowing the enemy to pull us out of character, that means we need to go back to an altar because our flesh is not dead yet. So in episode three, we begin to we explored engaging politics without losing our witness. My God, that is powerful all by itself. So many people have been indoctrinated, so many people have been engulfed in politics that they have lost their ability to witness. They, you know, many people are looking and saying, I thought they were Christians, but I see that they're they're not they're not talking like God, they're not loving like God, they're not behaving like God, they are hating. God does not hate all of these different things have polluted. Matthew 24 and 24 tells us that even the very elect will be deceived. People of God, there is many being exposed, there are many that are dying. There is so much that is going on within what we call the body of Christ, but God has gotten tired of people playing church. My God. In episode four, we learn how to keep the kingdom above national identity. So we need to understand politics is not going to do it. There's nothing wrong with being being versed and educated and what politics is, what politics stands for, but we need to know it is an earthly governmental system, but it does not trump. Ah, my God, it is not above government of heaven, which is the kingdom principle. Heaven is over everything. And we need to understand that. So we cannot allow ourselves to sit in the churches and forget about preaching and teaching the people of God, the body of Christ, about the sins, about different things that we are struggling with as people of God and as people that are not Christians yet. We have to understand that, that we cannot use the houses of God in the pulpits of God to promote agendas that are political and that are earthly governmental. What we need to be trying to get out into the communities, into the highways and hedges, as the book of Luke tells us, and compel all men to come so that my house may be full, talking about the Lord. So we need to understand this. But we have lost our way where pastors and preachers are preaching and teaching politics, but no one is talking about sin, no one is talking about the abominations, no one is talking about the fact that we must be born again. Nobody is talking about any of these things, no one's talking about the Holy Spirit because the Holy Spirit is our GPS. If we are Holy Spirit filled, then we would not dare outside of these guidelines because the kingdom of heaven has protocols. My God, my God, that that's where it starts right there, to be honest with you. Where it starts and where it ends is this when we see people preach politics and all of this worldly nationalism and nationality and all of this crazy stuff and national identity, it's because they are not Holy Spirit filled. I'm gonna put that right there. Put a thumbtack in it. That's what's going on. The Holy Spirit will bring correction, it will bring reproof, it will bring conviction. All right. But today we're stepping into one of the greatest challenges facing believers in our generation, people of God. Truth itself is under attack. What is a reprobate? A reprobated mindset is where we believe right is wrong and wrong is right. My God. And if we lie enough and if we say enough, and if we keep saying things that are not truth or untruth or misinformation, then if we say it long enough, then it becomes the truth. And the truth gets under attack because the enemy doesn't want the truth to be exposed. This is what we are talking about, people of God. This is what has happened. My God, we need to get it together. We need to get it together in the body of Christ. We need to get it together in the church. We need to get it together. When when we begin to to begin to just dissect this and we begin to dive into scripture, we begin to understand what the reprobated mind is. We begin to understand in Romans 1 and 28, it tells us that God gave people up to a reprobated mind. Uh-huh. Because God had gotten to a place that he consigned mankind to live in the condition that only be undone by the gospel. So, in other words, the Lord got to a place in scripture where he began to say, Okay, you don't want to listen. You want to keep doing what you're doing, you want to keep living how you're living, you want to keep, you know, just sitting how you're sitting. So the Lord said, Okay, if this is what you want, this is what I'll give you. Uh, does that sound familiar? When when when all of the other nations had a king and and and and all of a sudden the other people, oh, we want a king, we want a king. Okay, be careful what you ask for, because God will step aside and allow a thing to happen. This is what we are living through right now, people of God. So many people were crying out, so many people were wanting all of these things that you know, voting this way, voting that way, needing this and needing that. And now that we have it, now some people are finally trying to wake up. My God, help us, God, help us, oh God. In Romans 1, verses 18 to 32 is where you'll see this. You can begin to read that at your leisure, but it tells us about a reprobated mindset, and then it begins to tell us the things that happened with a reprobated mindset. You can also look at Hebrews chapter 12, but I want to stay on topic, Apostle Herbie and I, with where we're at, but we want to give you all those nuggets to read in your leisure. But we need to understand, people of God, that truth itself is under attack. We are living in a culture that no longer asks what is the truth, what's true, and what is lie, my God. Instead, it asks what feels true to me, my God, compromised, my God. Are there listen, and there is a significant difference? Today's episode is titled, People of God, Christianity in a post-truth era, and how we are to be standing on absolute truth in a relative world. Because when the truth becomes subject, subjective, excuse me, when the truth becomes subjective, subjective, I can't hardly talk this morning, confusion becomes inevitable. And if the church loses it its commitment to truth, it loses its ability to influence the world. So, people of God, let's talk about it. My God. The erosion of truth. That'll preach all by itself. So when we begin to look at this, one of the very defining characteristics of modern culture is the rejection of absolute truth. Today, people often say my truth, your truth, or their truth. But truth does not belong to individuals. Truth itself exists independently of opinions. How do we know that? I'm glad you asked. Turn with us to John chapter 14 and verse 6. We're gonna teach you something, as we always do, and we're gonna use the amplified translation here.

SPEAKER_00

I am the only, I am the only way to God, and the real truth, and the life, real life.

SPEAKER_01

Now listen. Now we have Jesus saying here, John is it's in John 14, 6, where he says, I am the truth, I am the way, I am the truth, and I am the life. In other words, he's saying, The only way you're gonna get to my father is through me. So it does not matter about who says that they are the only way, because you know, we got blasphemous, blasphemous stuff going on right now. We've got people walking around and they're acting like they're God, they're acting like they they have died on the cross, and it is a falsity, it is idolatry. People are worshiping gold statues and gold figures, and it's been multiple ones that have been erected right here in America. And it's a sad, sad thing that they forget that God left us instructions, he left us a blueprint of when he freed the Hebrew Israelite children out of bondage and slavery of 400 years out of Egypt. And what they did when Moses was up on the mountain, they went and melted down all of the gold and made a golden image, my God. We have fallen so far, and we don't even understand that God is giving us a yet another chance to wake up and to repent. And there are many right here in America that need to wake up and repent and turn and turn quickly. Notice that Jesus did not claim to possess truth. He claimed that he said or he stated, we're gonna say it three different ways. He is to be the truth, my God. That means truth is not something that we create in ourselves, truth is something we discover through relationship with Christ. Did y'all catch that? Through relationship, because I want you all to catch this emphasis. Jesus does not describe truth as personal, nor was he describing it to be relative or evolution evolving, excuse me. He identifies himself as truth, my God, Jesus. Oh, I'm trying not to stop right there and preach. That gives you and I the very foundation for the statement that biblical truth is not determined by culture, by feelings, by opinion, or changing social standards. Somebody need to catch that. It's not determined by Republican, by Democrat, by independent, by progressive. I'm gonna throw that in there for free. That I'm gonna throw that in there for free because we need deliverance, people. We need deliverance and we need it quickly. We need to repent and we need to do it quickly. We need to turn back to our first love and we need to do it quickly. It is an urgency. So let me just pause and teach right here, and then I'm gonna turn over to Apostle, Apostle Herbie. When society rejects absolute truth, morality becomes subjective, standards become fluid. Okay, fluid, loose, loose standards, loose living. Uh-huh. No conviction, no integrity, no morals, no character. My God. Convictions become optional. My God. And eventually confusion becomes normalized. But people of God, hear me what I say. The voices of the church must rise up, they must rise up swiftly. Because the church cannot allow culture to redefine what God has already established. My God. Truth does not change because society changes, because truth remains truth regardless of what. Okay, let me get the scripture real quick here. So we're looking at 2 Timothy chapter 4, verses 3 through 4. And what we're dealing with here, it deals with for the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instructions. And see, this is where we have come to today. We've got so many people today, they don't want to hear truth. You know, we're we're dealing with a generation of people with itchy ear syndrome where they feel as though they want they want to, you know, hear what someone's telling. They want a prophetic word, but they don't want to live the word, they want a prophetic word, but they won't go after the word himself. Because John 1 and 1 tells us, in the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God. So, how do we want a prophetic word, but we don't want to go after the word? And this is what we're seeing, and what is happening today, where so many people are going after words and prophetic words and all of this, but we don't want to go after the word himself that became flesh and dwelt among us. So we've entered into, as scripture says, Second Timothy chapter 4, verses 3 through 4, when it tells us, for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine. Uh-huh. When we're going to get to a place where we're going to walk around and we're going to, you know, feel the way we want to feel, and we want things to be adaptive to how we want to live and how we want to sin, and we don't want to come out of it. When people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instructions that challenge them with God's truth, but wanting to have. Their ears, here it is, y'all, uh-huh, tickled with something pleasing. They will accuse, they will accumulate for themselves many teachers, one after another, chosen, uh-huh. Guess this now to satisfy their desires and to support the errors they hold. See, this is why you see people jumping from church to church to church, and they don't want um sound doctrine preach. They don't want any spiritual leaders that are going to really reproof them, they don't want sound leaders that are going to hold them accountable accountable, they don't want sound, they don't want leaders that are going to make sure that they're walking worthy of the call. Apostle Paul said that I charge thee. See, Apostle Paul gave them a charge because there is a charge when you are called to minister the gospel, and then verse 4 says, and will return and will turn their ears away from the truth and will be and will wander off into myths and man-made fictions and will accept the unacceptable. My God, did y'all hear that? So Paul warned us that the time would come when people would not tolerate sound doctrine. Instead, they would gather teachers who would tell them what they want to hear. Does that sound familiar with today? Is this not what we are seeing today, people of God? This is what we're seeing today. Think about it. We are living in that reality actually today. Many people are searching for affirmation rather than transformation. My God. Comfort rather than conviction, approval rather than truth. Now let's teach right here for a minute. But truth will often challenge you before it changes you. And if believers only accept messages that make them comfortable, growth becomes impossible. See, I uh I have a saying, Apostle Herbie and I. If anybody's if anybody is sits under our leadership umbrella, so to speak, covering, we tell them all the time if you are unteachable, you are unreachable. Come on, somebody. Somebody better catch that, drop that down, leaders. If you are unteachable, you are unreachable. And what we will not do is cast our pearls before the swine. My God, we done with that error. All right, the word of God was never intended merely to comfort, it was intended to transform, my God. Listen, standing firm in an age of confusion. So, how do believers remain grounded? Number one, know the word. Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_00

You cannot stand on truth. You do not know. Biblical literacy matters, study matters, spiritual good matters. Test everything, not every message is biblical simply because it's sound spiritual. When you look at first John, first John chapter four and verse one of the fire. Believers beloved, do not believe every spirit. Speaking true, speaking true yourself. Proclaim prophets. See what happens that um John John then commands believers to test the spirit to determine whether they are from God because false prophets have gone out into the world. Now let's put an emphasis on this, apostle. This is your discernment passage. Every spiritual song is not necessary from God, every teaching, prophecy, ideology, viral message or culture claims must be tested against God's revealed truth.

SPEAKER_01

My God, now listen, people, listen to this. It is so important what Apostle has just profoundly said to you all, what he has just broken down for you all. Why is that? It is because scripture prophecy must always, always lead back to scripture. Okay, it must always lead back to scripture, it's gonna point you back to word when someone has a truth prophetic word that is released. It's not gonna be gibberish, it's not gonna be confusion. If you confuse, you get a prophetic word, that's not of God. Familiar spirits go out with false prophets. I believe that on the altar right there. Now, how far did you get apostle? Did you get stay rooted right here? No, right here.

SPEAKER_00

No, I know how to get okay. Go ahead, go ahead. Stay rooted in Christ. Truth is not merely information, truth is found in a person, and the closer you walk with Christ, the easier it becomes to recognize deception. Let's let's have a teaching point here. The goal, the goal is not merely to know truth, the goal is to live truth. Because truth, because truth that that is only new, but never practice, produce or transformation.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, see, it produces no transformation. You see that? That's why you see people that are always wrestling and and all of this stuff, they keep going around the same mountain because there's no spiritual growth there, because they don't want to accept the truth of what God is sending men and women of God and leaders into their lives for. So we need to understand something within these three scriptures that Apostle and Herbie and I have gone over with you all today on Let's Talk About It podcast. We have spoken to you on John 14 and 6 that we must what know the truth. 2 Timothy chapter 4, verses 3 through 4, that we don't abandon the truth. And then in 1 John chapter 4 and verse 1, we must test what claims to be the truth. My God. Listen, people of God, culture changes. Remember this culture changes, opinions change, trends change, but truth remains. And in a world filled with confusion, people of God, believers must become people of conviction, not arrogance, not hostility, but conviction. Because when truth disappears, society drifts. Can I tell you all right now that we are drifting or have drifted in America, in other countries around the world, we have drifted far from God. Many of us, only the remnant is standing in America, only the remnant is standing globally, my God, because we're not tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine, but we stand on the truth of the word of God. So listen, today, as we talk to you on Christianity in a post-truth era, and we tell you all that it's time that we must contend for our faith, as scripture tells us. Because standing on absolute truth is in a relative world, is where we are people of God. Catch this quote we're gonna throw out there for you. Truth is not evolving, truth is eternal. So don't come here to us with that that the truth is evolving and has evolved, and I am evolving, and all this crazy stuff. No, the devil is a liar. Truth is eternal. That thing hit me. Listen, let's reflect right here and think on some things to respond on. Ask yourselves what influences my beliefs most. Do I value comfort over truth? Am I building my life on feelings or scripture? Uh-huh. We want to challenge you. We want to challenge you to spend time this week reading scripture before consuming media. I don't, you know what? It's it's the the one area that I know I need to be on more are my social media platforms. And I struggle with that because I don't want anything taking me away from God. I don't, I don't want any distractions, I don't want to let all this stuff in my spirit because I guard my gates. But I know I need to, I keep saying this, but I've got to turn over my platforms. I like to be hands-on and personable with people and and really reach back out to people myself, but it's too, it's it's gotten to the place I really cannot do it. It's it's too much, I've got too much going on. Allow God's word to shake your perspective before culture does, people of God. All right, now we have four questions here and answers.

SPEAKER_00

What is truth? What is truth under attack? Why is truth under attack? Because truth exposed deception. Is absolute truth still relevant? Absolutely. Truth remains necessary in every generation. Why does people reject truth? Because truth often confronts areas people don't want to change. How do believers stay grounded by remaining rooted in scripture and relationship with Christ?

SPEAKER_01

Listen to this. People of God, stay encouraged, do not get weary in your well-doing. And as we get ready to close this podcast this morning, we want to exit with this prayer. Father, we thank you for every word that has been spoken in every seed that has been planted during our time together. We pray that what has been released would not fall on hardened ground, but that it would produce wisdom, growth, healing, maturity, God, and transformation in the lives of those that are listening to this podcast. Strengthen their faith, God. Restore families, refocus minds and hearts that they turn towards your will and your purpose. Give your people discernment for this hour. Give them courage to stand in truth and grace to walk in obedience. Lord, we pray for protection over every listener and their households. Cover them spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. Let your peace rest upon them and let your hand guide them throughout this week. Father, help us to not only hear truth, but to apply it to our lives every day. Let this be daily. Let us become disciplined disciples, wise stewards, loving family members, and kingdom-minded believers who reflect Christ well in every area of life. We declare that no weapon formed against your people shall prosper. And we decree divine alignment, stability, wisdom, and supernatural strength over every listener connected to this podcast. As we leave this episode, oh God, may your presence continue to be before us, strengthen us, and lead us according to your perfect will in Jesus Christ's mighty name. Lord, we pray. Amen and amen. May God bless you, may God keep you, and may this podcast be a blessing to the listeners of this true set word for you all today. God bless you. We love you and have a great, great rest of your day.
