Deconstruction vs. Discipleship: Rebuilding Faith the Right Way
Let's Talk About It Podcast | Season 6, Episode 7
Is questioning your faith the same as abandoning it? Can believers challenge religious traditions while remaining firmly grounded in biblical truth?
Christian deconstruction has become a significant conversation within today's Church. Many believers are reevaluating what they have been taught, questioning religious traditions, confronting church hurt, and searching for a deeper understanding of God and Scripture.
But there is an important distinction between examining what we believe and dismantling the foundation of biblical faith.
In this powerful episode of Let's Talk About It Podcast, Apostle Rosemary Collins Neverson and Apostle Herbie H. Neverson explore Deconstruction vs. Discipleship: Rebuilding Faith the Right Way.
Together, they examine the difference between rejecting unbiblical religious practices and rejecting the authority of God's Word. They address spiritual maturity, biblical discipleship, sound doctrine, church accountability, religious disappointment, and the importance of developing a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
In this episode, discover:
What Christian deconstruction means and why believers are discussing it.
The difference between deconstruction and biblical discipleship.
How to question traditions without abandoning biblical truth.
Why church hurt must be distinguished from the character of God.
The importance of spiritual discernment and sound doctrine.
How to rebuild faith upon a strong biblical foundation.
Why discipleship requires more than inherited beliefs or religious experiences.
The central question: Are we removing what people added to our faith, or are we removing the foundation God established?
This episode invites believers, ministry leaders, pastors, and those wrestling with difficult questions about Christianity to examine their beliefs through Scripture and pursue authentic spiritual growth.

And my allergies are flaring up, so please forgive me. All right. So on today, we're here with episode seven. And remember, we are in season six, and we're dealing with the voices of the church in a divided world. On this episode, we're dealing with the topic deconstruction versus discipleship, rebuilding faith the right way. The theme for today will be rebuilding faith on a biblical foundation. And of course, you know, you all know here on Let's Talk About It podcast that we are based on faith, family, and focus. So again, welcome back to Let's Talk About Pod Talk About It podcast. As we continue, people of God, with season six of Voices of the Church in a Divided World, we're building upon the conversation from our last episode, which dealt with the silent church when fear muzzles the pulpit. This is where we are in this discussion today. So we're going to go a little bit deeper and we're going to expose some things. Amen. So we discuss how fear, opposition, and cultural pressure can silence believers who have been called to speak truth. But today we're going one step deeper, people of God, because before believers can stand boldly for truth, they must first be rooted in truth. My God. In other words, you cannot stand on truth and in truth if you're not first rooted in truth, my God. And we are living in a generation, people of God, where many people are questioning what they believe, why they believe it, and where the faith, and wherever the faith that they inherited is actually the faith that the scripture teaches. Okay, so I've been taught this. This is what I learned, but is this what scripture says? We're dealing with people of God in this hour in this season, people of God globally, that are tired of the status quo. They're looking for the encounters with God, they're looking with the authentic moves of God. They are sick and tired of going and hearing motivational speakers. They're sick and tired of going to churches that are just that are that are actively, you know, it may be praise and worship, it may be praise dances, whatever it may be. And I'm not, we're not trying to um talk about any ministries in any way that they function, but we all must be Bible-based. People are looking for the true, authentic moves of God. They are sick and tired of it. They don't want to hear what you're saying, but they're watching and want to know how you live it. My God. So we're living with a generation of people that are questioning all these things. And the term we often hear today is deconstruction. Oh my God. Now, I want you to understand something, people of God. Questioning what you've been taught is not automatically rebellion. Examining religious traditions is not necessarily rejecting God. And recognizing that something was taught incorrectly does not mean that Christianity itself is false. But there is a difference, people of God, between examining what you believe and dismantling your faith without rebuilding upon a solid biblical foundation. This is what we're seeny. There is erroneous doctrine or doctorite, as some older people would say it, that is going around where there are alternative Christians, where people are in a reprobated mindset and they're trying to say that right is wrong and wrong is right. And anything, I'm going to put this right here and I'm going to move on. Anything that is not rooted in love is not rooted in God. That's a free one. That's a free one. So sometimes people are dismantling false teachings. Sometimes they are confronting religious abuse. Sometimes they are trying to separate the character of God from the behavior of people who claim to represent Him. This comes down to character, to examining ourselves to make sure that what we teach and preach lives up to what we live. But sometimes and sometimes along the way, in that very process, people of God, they begin removing the very foundation upon which their faith should stand upon. And that's where discipleship becomes critical. My God. Today's episode is titled Reconstruction versus Discipleship. Because we're talking about rebuilding faith the right way, based on biblical principles and scripture-based only. Because the objective here, people of God, should never be to destroy faith. The objective should be to establish faith, but to establish faith upon the truth of the word of God. So, people of God, let's talk about it. Let's first talk about why people are walking away from the church. My God. Talking on men, Apostle Herbie, he could tag in here in a moment because we're going to be switching in a second here. But one of the sad things is we need you all to understand that leaders get wounded too. We need you all to understand, men and women of God, that all of us have gone through a process at one time or another in our lives where we've gone through something. But we have to make up our mind that I'm not going to stay here in the valley, but I'm going to pursue and be persistent and go after the things of God that I desire. So what happens to all of us? Another thing is this thing called prosperity gospel. A lot of people feel as though and they are being prophesied to not prophesy. We've seen videos, we've had videos sent to us, we've had to pray. People have reached out to pray for people that used to be connected with us, people that we have known that we've come in contact. Sometimes it's people we've never met. And they're telling us or showing us videos where they're being told by false prophets, if you sow this amount of money, or you're not, you're not going to get this business or this house or this car or this job if you don't sow X amount of money. That's not scriptural. That's not, and the saddest thing about this is this is a prosperity gospel. And this has become where people that are professing to be prophets, but what they are, they become male and female Jezebels, witches, and warlocks that are pretending to be men and women of God. And many have been deceived. This people of God is where discernment comes in. That also deals with the church hurt and different types of problems that we see people walking away from. But we also have those now, let's get it right, that have what we call the itchy ear syndrome. As long as someone's telling them something that feels good or something that doesn't challenge their flesh or something that doesn't cause them to be convicted to live right, then they're satisfied with the status quo. Okay? We're gonna leave that right there and move on here. But I wanted to put that in there because it all goes hand in hand, people of God. And we must learn to acknowledge that those experiences are real. But here is the challenge. When someone has experienced pain without a religious environment, they may begin associating the action of the people with the character of God. I'm telling you all, it's serious. And those two things must be distinguished. God is holy, people are imperfect. God is faithful, people can fail you. God is righteous, people may misuse authority. We cannot excuse wrongdoing simply because it occurs inside a church. Neither should be automatically conclude that God is untrustworthy because someone misrepresented God, my Lord. All right. I'm going to, I'm looking to see here. All right, I'm gonna turn over um segment. Okay, and here I'm gonna finish this up, then I'm gonna flip it over to Apostle here. I don't want to stop in the middle of it. So when we look at the scriptural readings, we we go to the scripture for what I have just talked to you all about. It's from Proverbs chapter 3, verse 5 through 6, when it says, To trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding. That's verse 5. Verse 6 says, In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path, my God. So when we begin to think about to expand on this or this in a teaching format, now let's examine what the passage is really teaching us, men and women of God. The scripture tells us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts. That means our confidence must ultimately rest in God. But notice the second instruction: do not lean upon your own understanding. Uh-huh. This does not mean that we should not stop, that we should stop thinking or asking questions or examining what we've been taught. Okay? That goes back to the scripture that tells us in the scripture to study to show thyselves approved unto God, a workman that will not be ashamed, rightfully dividing the word of truth. So that means you may hear the word, you may read the word, we may meditate upon the word, but when scripture is being expounded upon, we need to have that word right there, line upon line, and precept upon precept. This does not mean that we should not just stop and don't stop thinking and don't ask questions or examining what we've been taught. What it means, people of God, is this that our understanding is limited and what we must remain submitted to God's wisdom. So we must continually eat of the word of God. It is our daily manner. And this and this is important. When dealing with spiritual wounds, people of God, pain can influence how we interpret our experiences. Disappointment can affect our expectations, and betrayal can make trusting again difficult. But we must be careful not to allow painful experiences to become the final authority over what we believe about God. Pain deserves the attention and the healing process to be restored and renewed and made whole. Okay. But we need to understand that pain should not become our theology. So let me say that again. Pain deserves attention, wounds deserve appropriate care, wrongdoing deserves accountability, people of God. But our understanding of God must be grounded in his revealed character and his word, not just his word, his holy word. And this is where the church has a responsibility. We cannot tell wounded people to simply get over what happened. We must create environments, uh-huh. I'm gonna say that again. We as the church and the body of Christ must create environments, uh-huh, where truth can be examined, legitimate wrongdoings can be addressed, people need counseling, they need to unpack, they need to go through the healing process and deliverance process, the restoration process. And people can pursue healing without being silenced. My God. Let me hit you with another teaching point. Disappointment with religious leadership should lead us to examine the leadership, not automatically abandon Christ. There is a difference between rejecting spiritual abuse and rejecting biblical truth, people of God. And the church must have the maturity to recognize that very difference. Okay, all right. Um Apostle Herbie's gonna pick up his and talk with you all here. Give him just a second here. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_03
False false foundation exposed. No, no, no. Let's deal with foundations. Because the building can look beautiful on the outside and still have serious structural problems underneath, and the same thing can happen spiritually. Some can attend church for years, they can know the songs, they can understand church language, they can participate in ministry activities, and yet when serious opposition comes, they discover they discover that their faith was built more upon personalities, tradition, or emotion, experience that than upon Christ. That's why discipleship matters. Let's go to the word of Jesus. When you read Matthew chapter seven, verse twenty-four to twenty-seven. Therefore, whoever whoever therefore whoever hear these saying of mine and note them, I will I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock. Twenty-five said and the rain descended, and the flood came, and the wind blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell not, for it was foundation upon a rock, was founded upon a rock. 26. And everyone, everyone that heared this saying of mine, and do them not shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand. 27 say, and the rain descended, and the flood came, and the wind blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell. A great a great was the fall of it. The two the two foundational. So everyone, so everyone who hears, who hear these words of mind and act on them will be like a wise man. A far-sided, practical, and sensible man. Um sensible man, a stupid man, who a foolish, stupid man, and everyone who hears who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be will be like a foolish man. When Jesus had finished speaking these words on the mountain, the crowd was astonished and overwhelmed at his teaching. Okay. Now, now this is powerful because Jesus described two buildings, both both build houses, both experience storm, both encounter rain, wind, and flood. But only one house remains standing. Why? Because the difference was not the appearance of the house, the difference was the foundation. And notice something else. Jesus did not say the wise builder was wise builder, was the person who merely heard his words. He said the wise. Bela was a person who heared his words and put them into practice. Application. Application. That is that is discipleship. Discipleship is not merely accumulating biblical information. It is allowing biblical truth to govern how we live. You can know scriptures and still refuse to obey it. You can attend church and still resist spiritual formation. You can admire a preacher and never develop a personal relationship with Christ. And when your faith depends entirely upon upon a personality, what happens when that personality fails? When your fail depends, when your faith depends entirely upon emotional experience, what happens when you do not feel anything? When your faith depends entirely upon fabrical circumstances, what happens when adversity comes? That's why we must build correctly. The four false foundations. We cannot establish doctrine based upon based only upon what we like or dislike. Then we have charismatic personalities, spiritual leaders can teach, mentor, and equip us, but no leader should replace Christ as the foundation. Religious tradition, traditions number four, traditions should be examined in light of scriptures. Longevity alone does not establish biblical authority. You see, the teaching point is storms, storms do not create weak foundations. When someone discovers that a foundation was falkled, the answer is never necessary to abandon the entire building. Sometimes the answer is to remove what was unsung and rebuilt correctly. That is what biblical discipleship help us do.
SPEAKER_01
That's powerful right there. That's powerful. Can I tag in the apostle? Okay, what he just talked about, just just sitting here thinking and listening to Apostle Herbie talking about that the storms did not create the weak foundation, it just revealed it. So, men and women of God, I want to especially to pause right here and to really talk to the hearts of leaders that are senior leaders, that are established leaders, and that are emerging leaders that are going to listen to this podcast. Hear me when I say this. Every time Apostle Herbie and I have come up against much adversity, there has been a greater glory that has descended upon us. I want to encourage you all. Every time there has been a Jezebel and a Judas sitting at our table that should have been a part of the tribe, or or those that that love you because of who you are as a leader, and as long as they were under the mantle to try to or attempt to or to pray for uh some of the oil off of the head of leadership. This is for this is this is gonna bless somebody right here. It was okay, but then the witch begins to manifest, and there's jealousy, and there's there's that they will get because this has happened to us. I'm gonna expose it. This has happened to Apostle Herbie and I. That people will get to a place where they will talk to the the those that are a part of your church and your ministries and start telling them they're not they're not gonna do a pastor's appreciation. You all could do it if you want to, and and questioning about how much tithe and offering they're giving. And and this and the sad thing about this is that the witch, Jezebel, uh male or female, never understood when you are a seer, when you are a nabi. I can go into these, I can tell you about the prophet, the prophetic clothes, but when God has already given you the governance over these demonic spirits that sit at your table as Jezebels, witches, and warlocks and Judases, and they don't even understand that God already exposed it, but in just like in the book of Job, somebody always comes back to tell it. Confirmation has always come back to Apostle Herbert. So why am I saying that? Because we have had people a part of the tribe that God has called us to govern and globally, and what has happened is that we always see the witches before they manifest, male and female. We already know the hearts before they manifest, but we try to give them the opportunity to repent and get it right, but instead they want to be tossed to and fro and go from church to church to church, leader to leader to leader, but never truly submitting to the spiritual authority or grace upon the head of leaders. By God, when someone discovers that, they discover that that person is a faulty foundation, and then we begin to understand. You don't abandon the call, like Apostle Herbie said, don't abandon the entire building. We don't abandon the call, we begin to pursue God even the more. My God, we begin to go after him even harder than before. We still love them, we still pray for them, male and female, but we have to be Abrahamic and cut the lots loose, and there will be no reconnecting unless God says it. And hear me what I say. Stop trying to resurrect relationships and people, leaders. I'm talking to every leader that's gonna hear this podcast. Stop trying to go back to people that you know were a problem. Let them go, love them, release them, and keep building, baby. There is much to do for the kingdom. All right, what real discipleship looks like, now that we've addressed spiritual wounds and faulty foundations, let's discuss the solution. What does real discipleship look like, you say? Because discipleship is not merely attending services, people of God. It's not collecting religious titles, and it's not simply following the personalities of a spiritual leader. Discipleship is a life of following Jesus Christ. I tell people all the time, Apostle Herbie and I, discipleship is being a lifetime learner of the things of God, of following the blueprint that God has left us. This is a lifetime for every man and woman of God. I don't care what your title is. You hear me? We are servants with a towel first. And one thing about what we've seen, because we mentor and we've been doing this over 15 years, but when I tell you it blew up the last uh about eight, six, eight years here, eight years, that God has really blown our mind for discipleship. My God, the leaders that we cover under our apostolic arm globally, the things that God is doing just it break, you know what? It it humbles us and it keeps us in a position of humility under the Almighty God, under his mighty hand. We look at Luke chapter 9 and verse 23. And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily, not when I feel like it. Come on, not when I think about it, not when I, well, I gotta I got a good uh refund check this year, so I'm gonna praise God. Or or I'm working too hard, but I'm gonna still praise God. Or I've got a family function. Okay, we got to we got to figure out right now, people of God. Are we gonna put God first? Are we gonna pick and choose when we're gonna serve God? Because I'm here to tell you, leaders, it's time to let it go. You cannot pump and prime and resuscitate and drag people into a place where they're not ready to go with God. Love them and leave them. Continue to pray, but keep on moving. You cannot become immobile. You have to keep pursuing God no matter what it costs you, no matter who it costs you. Two of my favorite songs, I'm gonna put this in there, is Don't Play With Me and I Move Different Now. 2026 has really taken my husband and I to another dimension in the things of God. And I'm here to tell you all right now that we are sold out for God. We don't have time for distractions, we have time to do and be about our father's business. And people of God, we would encourage you and tell you that it would behoove you to do the same thing. Don't get distracted. So let's think about a teaching expansion right here. Notice three instructions Jesus gives deny yourself, take up your cross daily, not every now and then. This is a daily thing, and follow him. That is not a passive Christianity, that is intentional discipleship. I'm gonna say that again, apostle. That is intentional discipleship. And I want to give you three kingdom keys to rebuilding faith correctly. All right, key number one surrender. That's the problem right there. We don't want to surrender. We want to do our own thing. We want to get offended when when pastors say something. But but every Sunday we're coming back with the same problem. Every week we we need counseling for the same thing. We get delivered Sunday, next Sunday comes around, we rent back on the altar trying to get delivered every Sunday for the same thing. If we would just totally surrender to God, that is the first requirement, people of God, to discipleship. True discipleship. All right? We must be willing to submit our assumptions, our preferences. This good one right here, y'all catch this. Our attitudes, boom, there it is, and decisions to the authority of Christ. Surrender does not mean abandoning wisdom or accepting mistreatment, people of God. It means recognizing that Jesus is Lord. And if Jesus is Lord, then his word must have authority over how we live. My God. Intentional. That's good right there. All right. Second key is transformation. All right, you need to surrender. All right, now we want transformation. The second requirement is transformation. Real discipleship produces change. And I am so glad to say it, Apostle. We see it, don't we? We see it in every disciple that's under our covering. We see, we see, baby, we see the trans. Listen, we see the surrender. We see, and another one, it listen, we see obedience that goes along with that third key we're gonna tell y'all about. So we begin to understand that. Real discipleship produces change. It should never affect our character, our relationship, our conduct, our speech, our decisions, our treatment, or our treatment of other people. We cannot claim to be growing spiritually while refusing to examine the fruit of our lives. I'm gonna leave that right now. That's good. Transformation is not simply changing religious language. People practice all the time and speak in tongues. Don't it doesn't mean they're tongues from God. We have people right here speaking in tongues, speaking in tongues, speaking in tongues, speaking in tongues, speaking in tongues. But they still lying, they still cussing, they still fornicating, they still backbiting, they still gossiping, they still lying on Christ, other fellow brothers and sisters in the church. I'm gonna leave that right there on the altar too. It is becoming more Christ-like, period. That's what it's about. That's the transformation. We need to see the characteristics and the attributes of Jesus Christ made evident in our life. It's not about what we say, what we teach, and what we preach, but it's about what and how we live. The third key is accountability. Uh-huh. The third requirement is accountability, people God. And accountability is often misunderstood. Accountability is not control, okay? It is not manipulation, and it is not questioning loyalty to a leader. Healthy biblical accountability involves correction. If, listen, Apostle Herbert and I would tell people quick, and we love them, Lord knows we love, we love everyone. But if we cannot correct you and you are a part of our ministries, then guess what? We we can't do nothing. We can't do nothing else because you're gonna always get offended. And I'm gonna be honest with you, we're called the senior leaders, established leaders, and emerging leaders. That means we do not have time to, because we know our mandate, and I'm not trying to be braggadocious, I'm not trying to be off rude, I'm not trying to be bigoty or any of those things. I'm being real. When you know your grace place, you know who God has called you to, then you know what? You allow people to be assigned to leaders that can deal with it. Maybe somebody that's called to the children's ministry, someone called to the youth ministry, okay. All of these different places. We can we can horizontally train and equip and teach those different, those different levels in the body of Christ. However, we know where our mandate is and we know our grace place for who God has called us to be. So we know that, and we we walk in it accordingly, okay? So that healthy it's if it involves accountability, the healthy biblical accountability involves correction, people of God. Responsibility, uh-huh. Accountability, responsibility, transparency, humility, and a willingness to grow. You gotta want to grow. We can't make you grow. No leader can. It also means that leaders themselves must be accountable. We have to be held accountable. I tell people this all the time, Apostle Herbie and I. No spiritual title places someone above biblical standard. Period. All of us must be submissive to God. We must have someone holding us accountable as leaders. Come on, somebody. And a healthy discipleship environment should encourage believers to study scripture, ask sincere questions, develop discernment, and mature in their personal relationship with God. So let's think of a teaching point right here. Discipleship does not produce dependency upon response personalities, it develops maturity in Christ, people of God. And this is where we must build, rebuild, excuse me, correctly. The answer to shallow faith is not pretending questions don't exist, the answer is deeper teaching, sound doctrine, healthy accountability, and a genuine relationship with Jesus Christ. My God. So then we begin to understand something, people of God. Trying to see how far we don't got here. Um thinking, clear my throat. All right, people of God. I apologize. Okay, apostle, you want to I'll you want to flow from there and then I'll come back in.
SPEAKER_03
Drink some water. As you bring today, as you bring today's conversation to a close, I want to speak directly to someone who may be questioning their faith. Perhaps you have been disappointed, perhaps you have experienced church, perhaps you have witnessed things that made you question what you what you were taught. I want you to understand that sincere questions do not automatically disqualify you from going spiritually. But I also want to encourage you not to make permanent conclusion about God solely solely from solely from the failure of people. Examine what you have been taught, search, search the scriptures, seek wise and trustworthy guidance, address wounds that need healing, and above all, make sure your foundation is in Jesus Christ, because the goal is not merely to dismantle what was wrong, the goal is to rebuild upon what is right, and the church and the church and the church let me say this we must do better at at discipline people. We must create environments where truth is taught accurately, where question can be addressed with responsibility, and where spiritual authority is exercised with integrity, because healthy discipleship produces mature believers, and mature believers are better equipped to stand when storms come. Remember, remember, discipleship build foundation, popularity builds crowd, there is a difference.

Okay, so let's let's think about what we just came to you with this morning for this message. So, of course, the title is Deconstruction versus Discipleship: Rebuilding Faith the Right Way, people of God. Of course, this as we've told you, we're still in season six. We're dealing with voices of the church. It's going to be this whole year in a divided world. The theme is rebuilding faith on a biblical foundation. Our key scriptures for today is Proverbs 3, verse 5 through 6, Matthew chapter 7, verse 24 to 27. And Apostle also read for you verse 28. Um, he was just saying what happened after. And also Luke chapter 9, verse 23. Now, the main quote for today that we will leave with you is this that storms do not create that we want you to know that storms do not create weak foundations, they reveal them. That's powerful, right there, people of God. So in this episode, we examine the growing conversation surrounding faith deconstruction and the importance of biblical discipleship. We address church hurt, leadership, failures, religious traditions, and the danger of building faith upon personalities rather than Jesus Christ. We also explore the three essential elements of discipleship, which are surrender, transformation, and accountability. The central message is that questioning faulty teaching does not have to mean abandoning Christ. Faith can be examined, people of God. It can, and it's only going to be strength, it's only going to help your faith be strengthened and rebuilt upon a sound biblical foundation. So as we reflect on today, there are four things here that we need to ask ourselves, people of God. Reflect and respond. And look at it this way: number one is this, okay? Ask yourself, what is my faith truly built upon? Christ, tradition, emotions, or personalities? And when it talks about personalities, am I drawn to a leader because they have a big social media following? Am I drawn to a leader because they may be well known? Because we have to pray for the televangel televangel televangelism that has been going on, you know, back years ago when there were a lot of wonderful men and women of God that fallen prey to the Prosperity gospel, and so not all of them, but we still have to keep them lifted in prayer. So we need to make sure that we're not drawn to an image rather than being drawn to the glory of God upon a man or a woman of God's life. Okay. Another thing we need to ask, and it's going to be a little hard sometimes. We have to have painful experiences. Ask yourself, has have painful experiences influence how I understand the character of God. Unhealed wounds can cause us to always abort our destiny, to walk away from leaders, churches, ministries, people that God has assigned to help us grow and go to the next level, or even become someone as a Jonathan and David, that is a lifetime that changes your very trajectory, men and women of God. Be mindful. And be mindful of those that bring the bone to try to cause discord and try to always find a problem with your leader or even a past leader or even a future leader, but they always want you to worship them. That is a Jezebel. I don't care if they're male or female, because they desire what you had with your leader for themselves. That's jealousy. And you know, your leader is not, and and and I can tell you from experience. I'm just gonna drop it like this to you. I can tell you from experience, my husband can tell you from experience. I know that there have been situations in the past where I have had the Jezebel spirits, I have had the ones who have come, I'm being transparent, that have come and tried to say things about others that were a part of our ministries. But, you know, it's it is it is very uh telling discernment and God had already shown us and we knew. But the same person that was doing all of that is the same person now that is trying to hold those people or persons hostage, and those are the ones because they desired the relationship that you had or have with someone or that you may have. It's called jealousy and envy. The third thing is we need to ask ourselves Am I actively growing as a disciple or am I simply participating in religious activities? The fourth thing, what are ask yourselves, what areas of my spiritual foundation need to be strengthened? Ask yourselves that. Okay, the activation question is this this week, conduct a personal spiritual foundation assessment. Okay, examine one belief, practice, or expectation that has shaped your Christian walk. Search the scriptures. Why are you doing this? You need to see does it align with the word of God? Because, see, some of this stuff we're doing is not even biblical, and we still call ourselves Christians. And because why? Because we don't know any better until we search out the word of God. Consider whether that belief is rooted in biblical truth or merely something you've inherited that's been passed down through different generations and families, leaders, and teachings. That's why a lot of times you probably have heard me, those that have been around Apostle Herbie and I for a while and some years that really know us, that have sat in different trainings and equippings and things like that with us, you'll hear us say that we need to get to a place in God that we are unlearned to be relearned by the Holy Spirit. Okay. And then ask yourselves, and where correct and ask yourself, and where is there a need for or correction in my life? That it where what area is it necessary and be willing to realign. Remember, don't just dismantle, but we need to discern, we need to rebuild, and we need to grow. Okay. All right, we've gotten to the QA. We've got our four questions here before our closing declarations. All right, people of God, this morning. All right, apostle, we'll do you hit one, now we'll go back and forth.
SPEAKER_03
Question my faith wrong.
SPEAKER_00
You're asking yourself, is it yes?
SPEAKER_03
No. Asking sincere question is not ultimately rebellion or unbelief. Question is can create opportunities for deeper understanding. The important issue is how we approach those questions. We genuinely, I mean, are we genuinely seeking truth, or have we already decided that we will reject any answer that challenge our assumption? Healthy discipleship encourages biblical examination, spiritual maturity, and a willingness to learn.
SPEAKER_01
All right. Second thing, QA. What is the difference between healthy deconstruction and abandoning biblical truth? The answer is this healthy examination involves questioning teachings, traditions, or practices that may not align with scripture. For example, people of God, someone may discover that a particular religious tradition was presented as a biblical command when scripture does not actually require it. Examining and correcting that belief can be healthy. That's a rebuilding, okay, on scripture, solid foundation. But abandoning essential Christian teachings without carefully examining the biblical evidence is a different matter. And people of God, the goal should be to distinguish between what scripture teaches and what people may have added to it. That's powerful right there. I've as I've gotten to be older, there's a lot that I hear and I know now through the years of just being raised in the church and and studying out scripture and the word of God and being taught that from a little child by my father and my mother, I have learned that there has been a lot that we may have heard years ago when we were younger, and you know, when children search and things like that right on through, that some things we've got to let go of and really rebuild on a solid foundation.
SPEAKER_03
How can how can someone rebuild their faith after a churchhood? The answer is rebuilding begins by acknowledging what happened rather than pretending it didn't matter. Where wrongdoing occurs, it should be addressed appropriately. Then the person can begin separating the failure of individual or in situations, institutions from the from the character and teaching of Jesus Christ. Study scriptures, finding trustworthy scriptures, communities, receiving appropriate support, and allowing time to heal can all be part of that process. Restoration should never acquire someone to return to an unsafe or abused environment.
SPEAKER_01
It's very important to have a trustworthy spiritual community, people of God, and to also have a Bible-based church or ministry and leaders that you are connected to and that have that cover you. Okay. And just like Apostle said, restoration should never require someone to return to an unsafe or abusive relationship. The fourth question here in the answer is this What are the strongest indication indicators of healthy discipleship? Okay. The answer is this help healthy discipleship produces spiritual maturity. We are seeing that, and we are so thankful to God. To God be all the glory, to all the honor and the glory and the praise belong to God. Yeah. So healthy discipleship produces spiritual maturity, humility, biblical understanding, accountability, obedience, and Christ-like character. It encourages believers to know the word for themselves. It equips them to exercise discernment. It teaches them how to live out their faith. And it develops people who are increasingly dependent upon Christ rather than excessively dependent upon human personalities. That is the kind of discipleship the church must cultivate, people of God. In this closing declaration, and here it is that we're going to release right now. We need to begin to declare this, people of God. Start on today, start this morning, that my faith is rooted in Jesus Christ. My foundation is established upon his word. I will not allow disappointment to become the final authority over my faith. I will seek truth, pursue healing, and embrace spiritual maturity. I will surrender to Christ, grow through transformation, and remain accountable to biblical truth. I will not merely hear the word. I will become a doer of the word. And when the storms of life come, I will remain standing because my foundation is secure in Christ. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen. And we want to thank you all for just coming to be with us here today on Let's Talk About It podcast. Of course, we are faith family and focus of RC and Ministries, where we are impacting and transforming lives globally, as well as One Sound Global Alliance, also known as OSGA, which is our apostolic network. And we're going to go ahead and we're going to say a closing prayer for the podcast. Father, we thank you for every word that has been spoken and every seed that has been planted during this time together. We pray that what has been released would not fall on hardened ground, but would produce wisdom, growth, healing, maturity, and transformation in the life of those listening. Lord, strengthen faith, restore families, refocus their minds and hearts back towards your will and your purpose. Give your people discernment, O God, for this hour and courage to stand in truth and grace to walk in obedience and submission. We pray for protection over every listener and their households. Cover them spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. Let your peace rest upon them and let your hand guide them throughout this week. Father, help us to not only hear truth, but to apply it. Let us become disciplined disciples, wise stewards, loving family members, and kingdom-minded believers who reflect Christ well in every area of our life. We declare, O God, that no weapon formed against your people shall prosper. And we decree that divine alignment, stability, wisdom, and supernatural strength over every listener connected to this podcast. As we leave this episode, may your presence continue to go before us, O God, to strengthen us and to lead us according to your perfect will. In Jesus Christ's name we pray. Amen and amen. Now we want you all to stay focused, stay obedient, stay submissive to the will of God. Do not veer to the left nor to the right, but stay on the road called straight. This is not the season, people of God, to be wishy-washy. This is not the season to follow ungoverned voices. This, people of God, is not the time nor the season to fall prey to the plots, the plans, and the scheme of the enemy or the adversary. But this is the time to stand firm in the word of God and in the word of truth. Yes, we know much is going on, but you know what? We know a God that sits high and looks low. And God is yet in control, even in this. Join us next month.
